SSMI Services

Counseling

Provides spiritual comfort, support, encouragement and reassurance while visiting with clients at home and in the hospital or nursing home to help alleviate loneliness and to provide ongoing case management.

Emergency Assistance

Provides food, clothing and financial assistance with utility and medical bills in times of crisis.

Escort Services

Escorts clients who are frail and/or have language barriers to medical, government agency and other appointments.

Interpretation Translation

Provides oral or written translation/interpretation during medical or social service appointments.

Pastoral Care

Provides spiritual support and opportunities for reception of the Sacraments, attendance at religious services and events at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and instruction on basic teachings of the Catholic Church. Ministers to patients and families at the Holy Family Home for the Terminally Ill.

Shares parish and community information, celebrates birthdays and organizes special ethnic and holiday gatherings.

Special Meals

Prepares and delivers seasonal holiday foods that foster ethnic traditions and religious practices.

Telephone Companion Reassurance Program

Assigns community volunteers to regularly call the homebound elderly at a definite, scheduled time, providing companionship and a safety net.
