A bilingual Mass with Anointing of the Sick for the elderly and homebound will be celebrated on Sunday, March 14, 2010. The Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 6700 Lansing Ave. Mass will begin at 2:00PM. It will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. A light lunch will be served. Raffles for a number of gifts will also be held. This bi-yearly Mass is one of the ways the Sisters assist the elderly and infirm to enjoy an afternoon of social interaction.
T he Board of Trustees and Advisory Board of the SSMI Endowment Fund are currently in the planning stages for the Annual Stars on Broadway Dinner & Dance. Check back for updates on the status of the event.
The Sisters assisted over 200 clients in 2009. Whether it's a reassuring phone call, help translating a doctor's orders, picking up necessities at the grocery store or an emergency food delivery, many elderly couldn't survive without the Sister'care.
